Happy new Year FireworksFREE San Francisco New Years Eve 2008 Fireworks Show (Embarcadero)
Ring in 2009 with 200,000 fellow bundled-up San Franciscans for a waterfront fireworks tradition
Every year the city of San Francisco hosts a free alcohol-free New Years Eve celebration for 200,000 people on The Embarcadero near Mission street for a spectacular midnight fireworks display on the waterfront.
11:59 To ring in 2009, a 20-minute fireworks show will launch from barges located 1,000 feet out in the bay just south of the Ferry Building near Pier 14 at Mission Street and The Embarcadero . Although the fireworks set off near Pier 14 and the Ferry Building, the city says the best viewing is Crissy Field, Aquatic Park, the Embarcadero, Fisherman’s Wharf and Pier 39.
